International Federation of
Cynological Sports (IFCS) was founded in 2000 and registered by the Ministry of
Justice of Russian Federation as an international public membership organization
with the rights of juridical person.
On the
post of IFCS President was elected Yuri Ostashenko (Russia), Vice-President
of the Russian League of Cynologists.
The main goals of IFCS
are:
— the integration of the
cynological sport into the international sports system and the Olympic movement
— the inclusion of the
cynological sport into the program of the Olympic Games.
According to it’s
Statute,
IFCS carries out it’s activity on the territory of those countries where
public organizations — members of the Federation exist.Proceeding from the
Olympic principles and traditions of international sports organizations activity,
only one national public sports organization (federation, association, union)
can be the IFCS full member.
Proceeding from the Olympic
charter, which prohibits any form of discrimination in sports, IFCS considers as
inadmissible any restrictions on the dogs’ participation in the competitions
because of their breed, absence or availability of pedigree documents,
registration in any kennel-club.
Now IFCS cooperates with
national sports cynological organizations of Armenia, Australia, Canada, Cuba,
Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Russia, USA and Ukraine. Also IFCS has contacts with sports
clubs of Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Byelorussia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Slovenia,
South Africa, Switzerland, Uruguay and other countries.
On the 19-20th of February 2001
the First International Cynological Sports Conference
was held in Moscow. In the conference took part the leaders of the national
sports organizations of Latvia, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and USA. The conference
declared course on the integration to the international Olympic movement and
approved the Resolution of the conference and the
Declaration
of the International Sports cynological movement, which formulated it’s
basic principles.
On the meeting of the agility
section during the conference the decision to hold the First
World Agility Championship in October 2001 in Moscow was made. But IFCS had
to postpone the Championship because of a difficult international situation.
IFCS invites all organizations
interested in development of cynological sport to cooperation.
